| APRIL 16 & 17 - JEFF PULLS DOUBLE DUTY AS DRIVER AND CREW AT BATESVILLE! |
Jeff took a trip to Batesville Motor Speedway this weekend for the Isle Of Capri Late Model Challenge Presented by Bad Boy Mowers. This two-round event paid the winner of Friday night $1500, and $2000 to the victor of Saturday Night.
Jeff started off the night by drawing the number one pill. The car turned out to be way too loose in the heat. He lost all control over the car, pushing him back to an eighth place finish. Being a one-man crew for the weekend, Jeff made some changes to the car in time for the b-main. He couldn't find any luck in the race, racking up eighth.
The following night, Brewster got the third starting spot in his heat, but couldn't find his way to a transfer position for the main event. After pushing hard throughout the b-main, Jeff would cross the line and take the checkered fourth, only two positions shy of making the feature. |

The winner of Saturday's feature event would be given a $1000 payday along with bragging rights for the entire year.
Brewster started off Friday night be setting eleventh fastest time in the time trials. This gave him the sixth starting spot in the first heat. After a brisk race, he found himself taking sixth place.
With rain in the forecast on Saturday, everyone was definitely on their toes. Rain or no rain, nothing was going to stop Malden from knocking out the Bootheel 200 on the first try, something that has never been done before.
Jeff started eleventh in the 30 lap main event. During the first few laps of the race, McGhee maintained his ground. It was not until lap ten when he started to take down cars one after another. Brewster was sitting comfortably in the eighth position when all cain broke loose.
As everyone was rounding turn one, another driver came up alongside McGhee and body slammed him. Jeff soon retaliated by taking him out going into turn three. Neither driver was happy, but the racing carried on. Jeff was given his spot back on the restart before the clashing continued. After several more hits, the checkered flag fell and Jeff would take home a solid seventh place finish. The other guy didn't do so hot. |

FEBRUARY 19, 2009 - WEST PLAINS PARTNERS WITH FASTRAK IN 2009! |
Courtesy of the FASTRAK Racing Series - www.FASTRAKRacing.com
Carnesville, GA (Feb-18) The FASTRAK Racing Series announced today the addition of West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, Missouri to its growing network of weekly sanctioned tracks in 2009. West Plains Motor Speedway is a 3/8’s mile moderately banked red clay oval, highly regarded as perhaps the finest racing facility in southern Missouri. West Plains Motor Speedway, a division of Gibson Racing, is operated by Don and Billie Gibson, who over the course of 17 years have transformed West Plains Motor Speedway into a premier facility which has successfully found the elusive “harmonious balance” between intensely competitive racing and family entertainment. The Gibson’s have immaculately maintained the facility in such a way which reflects how attuned they are to the needs of not only the race fans who pour into the facility on Saturday night’s throughout the racing season, but the race teams as well.
West Plains Motor Speedway comfortably seats 10,000 race fans with 3 separate and fully equipped concession areas. The pit area is located outside the track so as not to obstruct even one race fans view. In addition to a spacious pit area for the competitors, a 4800 square foot building incorporates the tech area as well as vending for those in the pit area. The racing surface is always meticulously prepared.
“We have not had Late Models here as a part of our weekly racing program in some time” said Billie Gibson. “We’re excited about the 2009 racing season and the addition of the FASTRAK Racing Series Late Models”. Gibson went on to say “When we’ve discussed the prospect of Late Models returning to our weekly racing program, the response has really been enthusiastic. Another element that has been a contributing factor is FASTRAK drivers who have persistently kept after Don and me to look into the FASTRAK Racing Series program”.
“There doesn’t seem to be much gray area in the rules and with the current economy, racing needs to be more affordable and there are race teams getting two and three seasons in a lot of cases on these motors. Obviously, FASTRAK is something we needed to take a look at. We also liked the fact that the City Chevrolet National Weekly Championship is something everyone has a realistic chance to shoot for” said Gibson.
“We’re thrilled to welcome West Plains Motor Speedway into the FASTRAK family,” said FASTRAK Founder and CEO Stan Lester. West Plains’ presence should translate into growth in a market where race fans have been deprived of the competitive kind of Late Model racing associated with the FASTRAK brand way too long. We’re honored that the Gibson’s have invited FASTRAK to West Plains Motor Speedway. It’s my hope that this partnership will transcend into a long relationship between the Gibson’s, West Plains Motor Speedway and the FASTRAK Racing Series.
